RADIOLODIST is a physician specialized in radiology, which is the branch of medicine that uses ionizing and nonionizing radiation to diagnose and sometimes treat diseases. In the past radiology involved the use of ionizing radiation including x-rays for the diagnosis of disease and X Rays and gamma rays for the treatment of disease. Radiologists now use more effective medical imaging devices such as ultrasound, computed tomography (CT scan) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to diagnose or treat disease.  A Radiologist can be classified into subfields of practice such as Diagnostic radiology, which is the use of various imaging modalities to aid in the diagnosis of disease. Radiology can be used for therapeutic purposes as well. Interventional Radiology uses imaging to guide therapeutic procedures.  Radiation Therapy uses radiation to treat diseases such as cancer.
